India chooses to bowl first against Australia in the first ODI in Mohali after winning the toss

<p>On Friday in Mohali, KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia. Before the ODI World Cup begins in October, the three-match ODI series begins tonight at home.</p>

<p>Following their strong performance in the just ended Asia Cup 2023, in which the Rohit-led team claimed a record 8th championship, the men in blue will enter the series in dwindling spirits.</p>
<p>The historic victory against Pakistan in the Super 4 match and the double-digit bundling out of Sri Lanka in the championship match, which India won with 10 wickets to spare, were the series’ standout moments.</p>
<p>Over the course of the competition, the Indian team produced with both the bat and the ball, with lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s thunderous return to the center serving as the cherry on top.</p>
<p>Following an 11-month absence due to a problematic back ailment, Bumrah’s performance in his first ODI match back proved to be miraculous at moments as the 29-year-old wrecked havoc.</p>
<p>Cricket fans will remember Mohammed Siraj’s performance in the pivotal match for a very long time since the seamer misled the Sri Lankan batting order and dismissed batters at whim.</p>
<p>KL Rahul, who had also been out due to injury, scored a stunning century to relieve some of the burden before the main competition at home.</p>
<p>The Indian people, who looks to the former captain and legendary batsman to perform on the biggest platform as much as possible, will benefit from Virat Kohli’s amazing century against Pakistan in terms of morale.</p>
<p>Australia, on the other side, will enter the series hoping to rebound from its devastating 2-3 series defeat to South Africa, which they had led 2-0 after the first few games of the series.</p>
<p>On Friday, the first ball will be bowled at 1:30 PM IST.</p>
