Preliminaries for UPSC CSE 2023 begin today; review the rules for exam days

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Civil Services Examination Prelims 2023 (UPSC CSE) today, May 28. The test will be given in two shifts: CSAT in the afternoon shift (2:30 PM– 4:30 PM) and General Studies I in the forenoon shift (9:30 AM–11:30 AM). Candidates may obtain and print their test admit cards from the official websites, upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in.

Candidates should keep in mind that the UPSC CSE admit card 2023 cannot be sent to them; instead, they must get it online. All aspirants must bring their UPSC CSE 2023 admit card to the testing location. Without their admit card, candidates will not be allowed to take the test.

On the day of the test, candidates are asked to strictly adhere to all instructions about the exam since it will be conducted under the watchful eye of the local police. The following list of important rules is provided for applicants to bear in mind:

To prevent any last-minute issues, candidates should show up at the test site at least an hour before the scheduled time. Once the test has started, no more submissions will be accepted.
On the OMR sheet, only black ballpoint pens may be used to mark responses. Any other colored pen will cause you to lose your chance at winning.
All applicants must also carry a picture ID that matches the information on their admission card, such as a passport, driver's license, voter identification card, PAN card, or Aadhar card.
Mobile phones and smartwatches are absolutely forbidden in the exam room, as are any electronic devices or gadgets.
To the exam room, candidates are allowed to bring face masks, tiny hand sanitizer bottles, and water bottles.
Each candidate should arrive at the test center with two passport-size photos. Only if the printed picture on the admission card is illegible will these photos be utilized.
