Indian Team Wins in Asia Pickleball Games and Takes Home 9 Medals

<p>The Asia Pickleball Games (APG) 2023 took place from October 6 to October 9. <p>37 outstanding athletes, picked following arduous trials in Mumbai, were selected to represent India. Arvind Prabhoo was the captain of this courageous group. He was not only the All India Pickleball Association’s president, which is a prestigious post, but he also presided over the International Pickleball Federation.</p>
<p>It was a talent-filled battleground on the APG-2023. Players competed in events such as Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles in the age divisions of 16 and up, 35 and up, and 50 and up. They arrived prepared to leave their mark, these Indian warriors.</p>
<p>Aditya Ruhela, the fiery underdog, won the Gold in the 16+ Men’s Singles division in a gripping final against Leander Lazaro from the Philippines. The Indian athletes displayed their unshakable drive and obvious talents, eventually claiming their seats on the podium.</p>
<p>Vishal Jadhav made headlines during the competition when he won the gold medal in the 35+ Men’s Singles after edging out Nguyen Anh Thang of Vietnam in a tight encounter.</p>
<p>Thakurdas Rohira showed grit in the 50+ Men’s Singles, winning the Silver despite a challenging defeat against Taiwanese player Hwang, Yeong Ding. The Indian team of Tejas Mahajan & Vanshik Kapadia won the Gold in the Men’s Doubles 16+ division with a show of flawless coordination.</p>
<p>Nothing short of spectacular could be said about the Mixed Doubles divisions. In the 16+ and 35+ categories, respectively, Himansh Mehta & Vrushali Thakare and Mihir Khandelwal & Isha Lakhani wowed the judges and won bronze.</p>
<p>The great conclusion was the Team Events, where India Team Brahma won the Gold in the 16+ category and India Team Agni, who gave it their all, won the Silver in the 35+ category.</p>
